NEWMAN is a dynamic platform based in Chicago with the desire to point this generation to Christ through the gospel utilizing the arts, media, and fashion. Through creative excellence, exceptional integrity, and intentional engagement, we believe that we will be able to effectively communicate gospel truths to this generation, resulting in a cultural pivot toward the cross.

Inspired by Ephesians 4:24 which exhorts us to "...put on the new man who has been created in God’s image—in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth," we want to call each and every individual to put on the "new man," embracing the identity God has ultimately called us to in Him.

We are currently accomplishing this through:

 

1. Seasonal drops featuring original artwork inspired from the urban backdrop of Chicago, as well as drops, such as our Holy Club Line, that pay homage to previous moves of God throughout history. Through our merch we hope to equip and inspire the next generation of preachers, history makers, and Christ-centered creatives and influencers to impact the lives of those around them for Jesus.

2. A call to community through coordinated events, concerts, and open mics with trusted NEWMAN partners where creativity flows, inspiration is found, connections are made, and most importantly Christ is clearly and effectively preached.

3. Engaging content that pushes the limits of creativity and ingenuity while remaining relatable and relevant.

 

Lawrence Rodriguez, the founder of NEWMAN, serves as a Pastoral Elder at Metro Praise International in Chicago IL, and has been doing ministry in the local church for over 10 years. He is a graduate from the School of Urban Missions Theological Seminary, is married to his wonderful wife Jaquelin Rodriguez, and has a heart to see young people come together to bring transformation to the world through evangelism, prayer, worship, and the arts!
